In 1862, one of the students of Koan Ogata, Shinzo Ito opened the Rangaku-juku (the Dutch Learning School) in the town of Najio, and produced many great men. Currently, JA Hyogo Rokko is stood on the trace of the school which used to be the house of Dr. Hyakki Okugawa, and a bust statue of Yae Ogata, who is the daughter of Hyakki and the wife of Koan, and a monument of Rangaku-juku are stood in front of it.
