| This area is said to be the former site of the Kawarabayashi-jo castle, that was built in the Nanboku-cho era. Chuzaemon Kawarabayashi, a descendant of the Lord Kawarabayashi, is believed to have built this shrine in the place where the castle had once been located. Its forest has about 200 kinds of broad-leaved trees such as camphor trees and bush camellias and is designated as Natural Monument by the Prefecture. |
