| It is one of the largest yacht harbors in Japan, and has the space to moor about 700 yachts. In the club house, on display, is the "Mini-Mermaid", the yacht that belonged to Mr. Kenichi Horie, the first person ever to succeed in sailing solo across the Pacific Ocean. On the northwest side of Nishinomiyahama, is the Nishinomiya Yacht Harbor, famous as the port Mr. Horie departed from for his voyage across the Pacific Ocean alone in 1962. |
