During the Meiji era, a wealthy trade merchant Shibakawa had planted a numerous numbers of Plum trees, Cherry trees, and several other trees in his orchard. This orchard had become what is now called the KOTO BAIRIN. This orchard presents 190 trees in 39 different kinds, and during February to March every year, many people visit to see the Plum tree's opening and events for it. Koto Plum Orchard
